On the Nature of the One-Diode Solar Cell Model Parameters

The one-diode model is probably the most common equivalent electrical circuit of a real crystalline solar cell. Extensive research has focused on extracting parameters from measurements performed in standard test conditions (STC), aiming to replicate current-voltage characteristics (I-V). This study started finding that, for same cell, different scientific reports yield significantly sets parameters, all allowing highly accurate replication measured I-V characteristics. observation raises big question: What true physical set parameters? present attempts address this question. For purpose, numerical experiment was conducted. results show that there an infinity distinct can at STC via equation. diode saturation current IS and ideality factor compensate each other preserve open-circuit voltage VOC, always input data point. Some possible approaches (e.g., link between VOC IS) lead are discussed, highlighting their strengths weaknesses. There enough room future universal approach able guarantee extraction parameters.
